Subic Bay Freeport – The Olongapo City Maritime Police Station (MARPSTA) formally turned over five boxes of assorted cigarette brands to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Subic On January 16, 2026.
The MARPSTA team, led by PAT Mark Melendez, PAT Judilyn Aquino, PAT Michelle Dulin, and PAT Franco Biagtan, facilitated the transfer.

District Collector Noel C. Estanislao personally received the seized goods, supported by personnel from the Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), including SA I Serapion Jacinto Say Martinez and CMEM I Richard Chuga. Also present for documentation were COO III Tito Ignacio and Chief of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS), IO II Antero Prado Jr.
This turnover underscores the robust inter-agency cooperation aimed at eliminating illegal trade. The seized items are currently undergoing official seizure proceedings in accordance with customs laws and regulations. (Dante M. Salvaña)
