CALAPACUAN, SUBIC — The vibrant traditions of the Muslim community took center stage as the Sama Badjao Tribal Dance Competition 2026 was successfully held in the Calapacuan Muslim Community in celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

The event showcased the rich cultural heritage, artistry, and unity of the Sama Badjao people, drawing members of the community and local leaders in a festive and meaningful gathering.

Chief-of-Staff Janjo Khonghun attended the celebration, where he witnessed firsthand the colorful performances and deep-rooted traditions of the Muslim community.

“Their talent and dedication to preserving tradition are truly admirable,” he shared.

Also present during the event were Punong Barangay Titta Alver, Barangay Kagawad Marivic Lazo, and Barangay Kagawad Wilfredo Bumanlag, who expressed their support for cultural initiatives that promote inclusivity and respect.

Chief-of-Staff Khonghun extended his heartfelt gratitude to Muslims Federation President Parker Bassar, as well as to the Imams, Ustadz, and the entire Muslim community of Barangay Calapacuan for their warm welcome and hospitality.

The event highlighted not only cultural pride but also strengthened the spirit of unity and mutual respect among diverse communities.

“Long live unity and respect! Eid Mubarak to all,” Khonghun added.

The Sama Badjao Tribal Dance Competition stands as a testament to the importance of preserving cultural identity while fostering harmony and understanding within the community.
