SUBIC, Zambales — Young learners from several Child Development Centers in Subic participated in an Earthquake Simulation and Preparedness Drill on March 5, organized by the Subic Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of the local government unit.
The activity forms part of the “Bulilit Community Tour 2026,” a special initiative designed to introduce disaster preparedness to children in the early childhood sector.
According to MDRRMO Head Danilo Macamay, the program aims to equip young learners—along with their parents and guardians—with essential life-saving skills and awareness that could help them respond effectively during emergencies.
During the activity, the children also had the opportunity to visit the MDRRMO office and the Subic Fire Rescue station, where they were introduced to basic emergency response procedures in a fun and educational environment.
Participants came from the Child Development Centers of Asinan Proper II, Sto. Tomas I, and Mangan Vaca II, who actively took part in the simulation drills and learning sessions.
The MDRRMO emphasized that engaging families in disaster preparedness activities helps strengthen community resilience, as awareness and preparedness often begin at home.
Under the leadership of Mayor Jon Khonghun, the MDRRMO and Subic Fire Rescue continue to promote programs that help build a safer and more disaster-ready community. (Subic Public Information Office)
