CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Central Luzon has donated 4,240 board feet of assorted logs to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to assist in improving welfare facilities for its personnel.
The wood materials will be used for infrastructure upgrades at the Fleet Education, Training and Doctrine Development Institute (FETDDI) located in Balagtas, Bulacan.
According to DENR, the logs were originally turned over by a tree cutting permit holder and subsequently received by the agency through the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in Baliwag.
The donation was formalized through the signing of a Deed of Donation between CENRO Baliwag Head Dennis Vergara and Commodore Roderick Elioran of PCG-FETDDI.

DENR said the donated forest products will help enhance training support facilities and welfare infrastructure that benefit Coast Guard personnel undergoing education and development programs.
DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo highlighted that the initiative reflects responsible management of forest resources while strengthening cooperation among government agencies.
“This initiative ensures that surrendered and confiscated forest products are utilized productively, preserving their economic value while maintaining our commitment to forest protection,” Pablo said. “Through continued collaboration with the PCG, we reinforce institutional partnerships that contribute to environmental protection and national service.”
The DENR continues to implement forest protection policies and ensures that recovered forest products are redirected to support government programs and public service institutions. (DENR Central Luzon)
