Olongapo City – To further safeguard consumers and promote fair business practices, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Zambales Provincial Office, through its Consumer Protection Division, conducted a monitoring and enforcement activity in Olongapo City on February 11, 2026. The initiative aimed to assess the compliance of business establishments with existing Fair Trade Laws.
The DTI monitoring team visited and inspected various establishments to ensure adherence to product quality and safety standards. The activity focused on verifying compliance with labeling requirements, price tags, and other consumer protection regulations designed to uphold transparency and accountability in the marketplace.

In addition to inspections, the team carried out mentoring and advocacy efforts to guide business owners on proper compliance with consumer-related laws. Entrepreneurs were reminded of the importance of protecting consumer welfare and maintaining fair trade practices as part of their responsibility to the public.
