Mexico, Pampanga — A newly discovered illegal cigarette manufacturing operation was uncovered in a warehouse located in Barangay San Jose Malino during a routine inspection conducted by the Municipal Government of Mexico.

The operation came to light after the Municipal Joint Inspection Team carried out a regular warehouse check, which led to the discovery of equipment and materials linked to the illegal production of cigarettes. Inside the facility, authorities found cigarette-making machinery bearing Chinese characters, large quantities of raw materials, and a strong odor of tobacco — clear signs of active manufacturing.

According to the Barangay Captain of San Jose Malino, the warehouse was operating without a valid business permit from the Office of the Mayor and lacked the required barangay permit, in direct violation of local government regulations.

The property is reportedly owned by Sinergy International Group Inc. and Red Sunstone Realty and Development Inc. A thorough investigation is now underway to determine liabilities and possible violations of both local ordinances and national laws.

The Municipality of Mexico, under the leadership of Mayor Ruding Santos Gonzales, reaffirmed its firm stance against illegal activities within its jurisdiction.

The Municipal Government’s Commitment:

Zero Tolerance – Illegal businesses have no place in Mexico.
Safety First – The protection and welfare of the community remain the top priority.
Fair Play – The law applies equally to everyone, without exception.

The Municipal Government continues to intensify monitoring and inspection efforts to ensure that all establishments are properly registered and compliant with existing laws and regulations.

In Mexico, maintaining order, fairness, and public safety remains paramount.
