OLONGAPO CITY — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409), provided family food packs to fisherfolk operating in the waters near Bajo de Masinloc on March 20, 2026.

The activity was conducted under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and in support of the PCG’s Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Rescue, and Enforcement (iCARE) Program. The initiative underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to assist coastal communities and promote their welfare amid maritime challenges.

According to the PCG, the distribution aims to boost the morale and resilience of local fisherfolk while reinforcing cooperation between maritime authorities and stakeholders in the fishing sector.

The Coast Guard emphasized that beyond its law enforcement and maritime security functions, it remains committed to humanitarian efforts that directly benefit Filipino communities reliant on marine resources.

The PCG continues to strengthen its presence in key maritime areas, ensuring not only safety and security but also extending assistance to those in need.
