SAN ANTONIO, ZAMBALES — Access to primary health care and essential medicines has expanded in the Municipality of San Antonio following the official launch of the PhilHealth YAKAP and GAMOT programs on March 23, 2026, at Elyaga Medical Clinic and Laboratory Clinic and Raine Pharmacy.

The program was launched by Mayor Arvin Rolly D. Antipolo together with PhilHealth Acting Vice President Atty. Ma. Emily P. Roque, in collaboration with local health partners and community leaders. The initiative aims to strengthen primary care services and ensure that PhilHealth members receive continuous health support in their communities.

Under the YAKAP program, members can receive free health screening, medical consultations, laboratory tests, and access to 21 essential medicines at the YAKAP-accredited Elyaga Clinic. The initiative is supported by Dr. Lee-Ann Q. Estrella and SK Federation President Cziello Raine P. Albino, working in close coordination with PhilHealth Olongapo Head Lheny D. Fajardo.

Meanwhile, through the GAMOT program, members with a YAKAP doctor’s prescription may avail essential medicines worth up to Php20,000 annually at Raine Pharmacy and other accredited GAMOT pharmacies across the province.

“Today marks an important step for the people of San Antonio. Through the PhilHealth YAKAP and GAMOT programs, we are bringing health services and essential medicines closer to every Zambaleño. Our goal is simple — no resident should be left behind when it comes to primary care, prevention, and access to treatment. This initiative strengthens our commitment to a healthier and more resilient community,” Mayor Antipolo said.

The launch marks the first implementation of the YAKAP and GAMOT programs in the Municipality of San Antonio, Zambales, further strengthening local efforts to improve public health services.

Aligned with the goals of the Universal Health Care (UHC) program, the initiative highlights the shift toward a proactive, primary care-driven health system that focuses on prevention, continuity of care, long-term wellness, and stronger communities.
