The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) reminds the public that burning under or near power transmission towers and lines is strictly prohibited. Such activities can disrupt the continuous flow of electricity and may also lead to accidents that could endanger lives and property.
Smoke and extreme heat from open burning may damage transmission facilities and cause power interruptions that affect communities relying on stable electricity for daily activities, businesses, and essential services.
NGCP urges the public to remain vigilant and help protect the country’s power transmission infrastructure. If you witness burning activities taking place beneath or near transmission towers or power lines, please report them immediately to the proper authorities.
