The government is moving forward with the rehabilitation of the 100-hectare Kalangitan Sanitary Landfill in Tarlac, following the successful recovery of the site.
BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang, BCDA Vice President for Land and Assets Development Richard Cepe, Clark Development Corporation Environmental Permits Division Manager Erwin Bognot, and Environmental Management Bureau Regional Director Martin Jose Despi conducted a site inspection on February 3 to assess conditions ahead of the rehabilitation phase. Once site inventories are completed, restoration activities will proceed in accordance with environmental standards and long-term land recovery objectives.
The initiative supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Marcos administration’s push for sustainable and responsible land use, reinforcing the government’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the responsible management of state lands.
