CLARK, PAMPANGA — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has partnered with Philippine Pharma Procurement, Inc. to strengthen the country’s healthcare system and boost medicine security by transforming Clark into a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing, logistics, and research.

The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding to commence a collaborative study on the development of pharmaceutical economic zones within the Clark Civil Aviation Complex and New Clark City.

The proposed development aims to enhance the country’s self-sufficiency in medicine research, testing, production, and distribution. It will leverage the strategic advantage of the Clark International Airport as a critical logistics gateway, while positioning New Clark City as a key industrial and innovation hub for the pharmaceutical sector.

Through this initiative, BCDA seeks to help build a stronger and more resilient healthcare supply chain that will benefit Filipinos nationwide.

The partnership is also aligned with the economic agenda of the administration of Ferdinand Marcos Jr., which aims to accelerate the development of economic zones to generate jobs, attract investments, diversify growth, and support inclusive economic progress.

BCDA underscored that strengthening the pharmaceutical industry is a vital step toward achieving a healthier nation and ensuring long-term healthcare resilience in the Philippines. (BCDA Group)
