Candelaria, Zambales — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Zambales Provincial Office launched a Shared Service Facility (SSF) for Tinapa Processing at the Candelaria School of Fisheries in Barangay Sinabacan on March 10, 2026, aimed at strengthening the local fisheries industry and supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The SSF Program provides shared access to equipment, tools, and technology that will help improve productivity and product quality among local enterprises. The facility will also serve as a center for learning and production, supporting skills development in fisheries processing while promoting the production of quality tinapa products.
Principal III Russel M. Elgincolin welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of the facility in advancing technical skills and livelihood opportunities for students and community members.

The event was attended by representatives from the local government and education sector, including Municipal Administrator and Local Youth Development Officer Kathlyn Polanco, representing Municipal Mayor Byron E. Edquilang; Liga ng mga Barangay President Nestor E. Pacheco; Barangay Councilor Jay Eclario; Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and OIC Dr. William Roderick R. Fallorin; Public Schools District Supervisor Connie Peñaloza; and Education Program Supervisor for Technology and Livelihood Education Jay Morados.
DTI Zambales Division Chief Evangeline S. Bulda expressed gratitude to partner agencies and stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening local industries and community enterprises.
The activity concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of the SSF on Tinapa Processing. (DTI Zambales)
