SUBIC, Zambales — A two-day medical mission spearheaded by Hyundai Heavy Industries in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Subic and its Municipal Health Office (MHO) was successfully conducted from March 18 to 19 at the Subic Sports Complex.

According to the MHO, at least 700 individuals benefited from the free medical services provided during the activity.

The medical mission was supported by a team of healthcare professionals from Ulsan University Hospital in South Korea, who delivered a range of essential health services to residents.

Services offered included dental care (tooth extraction), internal medicine consultations, pediatric care, obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) consultations with ultrasound, as well as minor surgical procedures. Patients also received free medicines and vitamins.

One of the beneficiaries, Rosela, shared that she sought consultation for a lump on her body and was given appropriate medication by the attending doctors.

The initiative was carried out smoothly and successfully with the support of Subic Mayor Jon Khonghun and Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun, who both expressed their gratitude to Hyundai Heavy Industries for extending assistance to the people of Subic.

The local government highlighted the importance of such partnerships in improving access to healthcare services, particularly for underserved communities. (Marjorie Tomilloso – Subic Public Information Office)
