Olongapo City — Journalists and media practitioners swapped deadlines for cue sticks as they gathered for a high-energy 9-ball billiards tournament, bringing together 30 participants from across Central Luzon and Metro Manila.
Representatives from Zambales, Olongapo, Bataan, Bulacan, and Metro Manila showcased not only their reporting skills but also their precision and strategy on the billiards table. The event served as a refreshing break from the fast-paced media environment, promoting camaraderie, sportsmanship, and stronger professional connections.
Matches throughout the tournament delivered intense competition and exciting moments, drawing cheers from fellow participants and spectators. Beyond the rivalry, the event underscored a shared passion for billiards among media professionals, strengthening unity within the industry.

Event organizer Jojo Perez of Radyo Bandera expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and participation.
“This event goes beyond the game—it’s about building friendships and fostering unity among media practitioners from different regions,” said Alex Galang of Central Luzon Gazette.
The tournament was supported by key partners, including Aboitiz Power – GNPower and GEMEC, Aboitiz Power Solar, the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan, and Zambales 1st District Representative Deputy Speaker Jay Khonghun and Subic Mayor Jonathan Khonghun. The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority also extended its support by providing food and accommodation to the successful event.

With its successful run, organizers are optimistic about mounting more sports-driven initiatives that bring together the media community in a spirit of collaboration, balance, and fellowship.
