BAMBAN, TARLAC — More than 250 residents of Sitio Martin in Barangay Sto. Niño, Bamban, Tarlac received free healthcare services during a medical mission conducted on May 9, 2026 by the Abacan River and Angeles Watershed Advocacy Council, Inc. and the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians Angeles City Chapter.

The outreach activity aimed to provide accessible medical care and wellness support to members of the Ayta community and other residents in the remote area.

Beneficiaries received free medical consultations, health check-ups, medicines, and rice assistance through the joint initiative of the two organizations and their volunteer partners.

The activity was attended by ARAW-ACI President Abe Tayag, Vice-President Sonny Dobles, Directors Erlin Due and Alex Ocampo, as well as PAFP Angeles City Chapter President Dr. Ethel Reyes and other officials.

A team of volunteer doctors led the medical mission, including Drs. Rocelli Manalo, Helmy Alfonso, Joy Ocampo, Jonas Ocampo, Menchi Dobles, Perla Garcia, Erlyne Fausto, Kayla Perez, Colleen Alonsa, Jaime Lorenzo Quiambao, Christine Mercado, Raquel Ramirez, Nomar Caranto, Aris Nalo, Shanon Guevarra, and Veredigna Santos.

Support for the activity was also provided by the Organisasyon da reng MedRep na ning Angeles, pharmaceutical companies, Unilab, and ARAW-ACI Director Jumbo Tayag through donations of medicines and other resources.

Local officials and community leaders also contributed to the successful conduct of the mission, including Sto. Niño Barangay Captain Dondon Maristela, San Martin Elementary School Principal Vernon Maristela, Chieftain Willie Navarro, Kagawad Maritess Miclat, and Oscar Dizon.

Organizers said the medical mission forms part of the continuing efforts of ARAW-ACI and PAFP to promote healthcare access and wellness programs in underserved communities across Central Luzon. (Erlin M. Due, ARAW-ACI)
