ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Nearly 200 volunteers from various civic groups, government offices, and community organizations joined forces on Saturday, May 16, for a clean-up drive along a section of the Abacan River in Barangay Anunas as part of the ongoing Abacan River Sustainable Clean-up Program.

Spearheaded by Balibago Waterworks, the environmental initiative is conducted every third Saturday of the month to promote river conservation, environmental awareness, and stronger community participation in protecting local waterways.
Joining this month’s clean-up for the first time were representatives from the IMA Foundation, Angeles City Veterinary Office, and the Barangay Anunas LGU, adding fresh support to the growing environmental movement.

Regular partner organizations that also took part in the activity included MACCII, Nagkakaisang Guardians, Soliman EC, Philippine College of Criminology, and ARAW-ACI.
Head organizer Minerva Arceo, said the monthly clean-up underscores the importance of shared responsibility in preserving the Abacan River and encourages more sectors to actively participate in sustaining a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
