Mabalacat City, Pampanga — In a strong demonstration of environmental stewardship and community partnership, the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Abacan River and Angeles Watershed Advocacy Council, Inc. for the adoption and rehabilitation of a five-hectare reforestation site in Sitio Calapi, Barangay Marcos Village, Mabalacat City.
Under the agreement, the PAFP committed to plant a total of 5,000 trees over a three-year period as part of its long-term environmental conservation and climate action initiative. The activity also forms part of the organization’s observance of World Family Doctors’ Day on May 19, 2026, highlighting the broader role of physicians in promoting not only public health but also ecological well-being.

The MOA signing was conducted on-site and witnessed by key stakeholders including ARAW-ACI President Abe Tayag, PAFP President Dr. Ethel Reyes, KAAPKA President Henry Pan, and land owner and steward Pastor Roldan Serrano. Following the ceremonial signing, participants proceeded with an on-ground tree-planting activity.
As an initial milestone, the PAFP planted 170 fruit-bearing trees in the adopted area. The group also extended support to the local stewards through the donation of grocery packs, underscoring the social dimension of the initiative.
The event was further supported by members of the Organisasyon dareng Medical Representative ning Angeles (OMRA), led by Christine Grace Reyes, along with ARAW-ACI officers Vice President Sonny Dobles, Directors Erlin M. Due and Architect Alex Ocampo.
