Olongapo City — The City Government of Olongapo, in partnership with the Persons with Disability Affairs Office and the Department of Education, conducted a Disability Sensitivity and Awareness Training for Child Development Workers and Kindergarten Teachers from May 18 to 20, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center.

The three-day training gathered child development workers and kindergarten teachers to strengthen their understanding of inclusive education and improve their ability to support children with disabilities and special learning needs inside classrooms and communities.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. personally attended the activity to express the local government’s commitment to promoting equal opportunities and inclusive learning environments for all children.

According to organizers, the training aimed to increase awareness and equip participants with practical knowledge and sensitivity in handling learners with disabilities. Discussions focused on proper approaches, inclusive practices, and creating safe and supportive educational spaces regardless of a child’s abilities.

The initiative forms part of the city government’s continuing efforts to strengthen inclusive education programs and ensure that every young Olongapeño receives fair access to quality education and community support.

Through the collaborative effort of the local government, education sector, and disability advocates, Olongapo continues to advance programs that uphold inclusivity, understanding, and equal opportunities for children with special needs.
