CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police authorities in Bulacan arrested three suspects involved in two separate murder incidents following intensified hot pursuit and follow-up operations conducted in the municipalities of Norzagaray and Bocaue.
In Norzagaray, a joint hot pursuit operation led by the Norzagaray Municipal Police Station resulted in the arrest of a 54-year-old suspect linked to the fatal shooting of a tricycle driver along Lawang Street, Barangay Poblacion on May 17, 2026.
Investigation revealed that the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the forehead, causing his death. Through backtracking and review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage near the crime scene, investigators identified the route taken by the suspects before and after the incident, leading to the arrest of one of the suspects in Sitio Pugpog, Barangay Poblacion on May 18.
Authorities said operations are still ongoing for the arrest of the remaining suspect identified only by an alias.
Meanwhile, in Bocaue, two suspects were arrested shortly after allegedly stabbing and shooting a 40-year-old delivery rider in Barangay Turo on the evening of May 19, 2026.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim was delivering a parcel when one of the suspects suddenly stabbed him from behind. As the victim attempted to flee, he was stabbed again and fell to the ground. The second suspect then allegedly drew a firearm and repeatedly shot the victim while he was lying on the road.
Responding police officers immediately launched follow-up operations that resulted in the arrest of both suspects.
Police Brig. General Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3, commended the operating units for the swift resolution of the incidents and emphasized PRO3’s continued commitment to pursuing individuals involved in violent crimes under the Philippine National Police Focused Agenda.
“These arrests demonstrate the dedication and determination of our police officers in ensuring that perpetrators of violent crimes are immediately identified and brought before the law. We assure the public that PRO3 will continue to intensify intelligence-driven and evidence-based police operations to keep our communities safe,” Mendez said. (Jason de Asis)
