Castillejos, Zambales – Mayor Jeffrey Khonghun of Castillejos led the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected officers of the Farmers’ Federation of Castillejos on Monday, January 26.
The federation is composed of farmers’ associations from 14 barangays in Castillejos and aims to unify the agricultural sector to ensure a more organized and effective delivery of assistance such as technology, machinery, training, seeds, fertilizers, and other livelihood support.
Also present at the ceremony were Councilor Ramon Valdez and personnel from the Municipal Agriculture Office, who showed their support for the activity.
One of Mayor Khonghun’s key programs is to revitalize and strengthen the agricultural sector in the municipality. Through the continued cooperation between the farmers and the Castillejos LGU, it is expected that the supply of food products will become more abundant and the livelihood of the municipality’s residents will further improve.
