SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – Hundreds of residents benefited from free healthcare services as the Municipal Health Office, in partnership with the Department of Health and the local government, conducted a Kalusugan Caravan and Hypertension and Diabetes Club Oath Taking at the San Antonio Youth Center on June 29.
The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare and improve the early detection and management of non-communicable diseases, particularly hypertension and diabetes, through community-based health services.
Residents availed of free blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, medical consultations, health education, PhilHealth registration and membership assistance, men’s and women’s health services, cervical cancer screening through visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA), breast and oral examinations, nutritional assessment, and other primary healthcare services.

The event also formalized the Hypertension and Diabetes Club, which seeks to encourage regular health monitoring, treatment compliance, and healthier lifestyles among individuals living with chronic illnesses.
Dr. Jerald John A. Quintero San Antonio Municipal Health Officer said bringing healthcare services directly to communities helps improve access to essential medical care while raising public awareness on the importance of disease prevention and early intervention.
The activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Municipal Health Office, the Department of Health, the local government of San Antonio, healthcare workers, and volunteers.
The program reflects the government’s continuing commitment to strengthening primary healthcare services and building healthier communities under the banner, “Alaga sa Kalusugang Pamayanan, Sama-sama Tayong Tatag.”
