ORANI, Bataan — The opening of the ₱184-million Orani Fish Landing and Trading Facility is expected to transform the municipality into one of Central Luzon’s premier seafood trading hubs, creating new business opportunities for investors, traders, and local entrepreneurs.
Officially inaugurated on July 1, the modern facility is the largest fish port in Bataan and is designed to strengthen the province’s seafood supply chain by providing a centralized, sanitary, and efficient marketplace for fishery products.
Developed through the Department of Agriculture–Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bataan and the Municipal Government of Orani, the infrastructure project is expected to stimulate commerce by attracting more institutional buyers, wholesalers, logistics providers, and seafood processors.

For decades, Orani has been recognized as a major source of high-value aquatic products, particularly mud crabs, shrimp, and fresh fish, drawing buyers from neighboring provinces. With the new trading facility in place, local officials expect higher trading volumes, expanded market access, and increased private-sector investments that will generate jobs and strengthen the municipality’s local economy.

The fish port also addresses critical post-harvest challenges by providing improved handling and trading facilities that help reduce spoilage, preserve product quality, and improve the competitiveness of locally sourced seafood. These improvements are expected to increase the income of fisherfolk while ensuring a more reliable supply of fresh products for consumers and commercial buyers.
Located in Barangay Pantalan Bago, the Orani Fish Landing and Trading Facility is now fully operational, with trading activities beginning daily at 3:00 p.m. The project underscores Bataan’s commitment to modernizing its fisheries sector while positioning the province as a key player in the regional seafood industry and an attractive destination for agri-fisheries investment.
