MARIVELES, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) reaffirmed its commitment to promoting workers’ welfare and fostering a collaborative business environment through an open dialogue with the Coalition of Labor Unions in Bataan (CLUB), led by AFAB Administrator and Chief Executive Officer Hussein P. Pangandaman.
The dialogue underscored AFAB’s continuing efforts to maintain strong partnerships with labor organizations, recognizing their vital role in sustaining industrial peace and supporting the Freeport’s long-term economic growth.
Administrator Pangandaman expressed his appreciation to CLUB for serving as a vital bridge between AFAB and the workforce, emphasizing that constructive labor-management relations are essential to building a productive, equitable, and investment-friendly Freeport.
During the meeting, Pangandaman presented the agency’s ongoing and upcoming infrastructure and community development projects designed to improve the quality of life of workers and enhance the overall business environment within the Freeport Area of Bataan. These include the installation of lighting along Zigzag Road to improve road safety, the development of recreational facilities, the opening of new food establishments, and the enhancement of the boardwalk, among other initiatives aimed at promoting a healthier work-life balance for employees.

The AFAB chief also reiterated the agency’s commitment to maintaining an open-door policy, encouraging workers to continue raising their concerns and recommendations through their respective labor unions to ensure that issues are addressed through constructive dialogue.
He stressed that transparent communication remains a cornerstone of effective public service, enabling AFAB to deliver responsive, people-centered programs that address the evolving needs of Freeport workers while strengthening stakeholder collaboration.
The dialogue concluded with a shared commitment between AFAB and the labor coalition to sustain regular engagement and prioritize programs and initiatives that directly benefit the workforce, reinforce industrial harmony, and support the continued competitiveness of the Freeport Area of Bataan as a premier investment destination.
