DAVAO CITY — The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) joined tourism stakeholders and industry partners in the Tourism Congress of the Philippines (TCP) Mindanao Regional Meeting held on August 27 at Dusit Thani Residences Davao.
The regional meeting brought together key TCP members, travel partners, and tourism stakeholders from various parts of Mindanao to discuss tourism initiatives, strengthen industry collaboration, and explore opportunities to further promote destinations across the country.
Representing SBMA was Rodel Mayor, chief of the Business and Marketing Services Division of the SBMA Tourism Department, who presented the agency’s latest tourism development programs and strategic initiatives for Subic Bay.

Mayor highlighted SBMA’s efforts to further position Subic as a competitive tourism destination by strengthening partnerships with tourism stakeholders and promoting the area’s diverse attractions and tourism-related opportunities.
The participation also provided SBMA an opportunity to establish and strengthen linkages with travel industry players from Mindanao, potentially opening avenues for increased visitor arrivals and tourism-related partnerships between Subic and destinations in the region.
The TCP Mindanao Regional Meeting followed the successful Luzon Regional Meeting held on July 30, forming part of the organization’s continuing efforts to engage tourism stakeholders across the country.
Mayor said, its participation underscores its commitment to expanding tourism networks, promoting Subic Bay as a destination, and supporting initiatives that contribute to the growth of the local tourism industry.
Through continued collaboration with government agencies, tourism organizations, travel partners, and private-sector stakeholders, SBMA aims to further develop Subic Bay as a preferred destination for leisure, business, and other tourism activities.
