CABANATUAN CITY, NUEVA ECIJA — Art offers a different way of remembering history as Nueva Ecija marks the 130th Unang Sigaw ng Nueva Ecija through two exhibitions bringing together local artists and community groups.
The first exhibit, the 130th Unang Sigaw ng Nueva Ecija Art Exhibit takes center stage on August 28 to 29 at SM City Cabanatuan Event Center. Organized by Nueva Ecija Tourism Office, it features works by local artists, the Talavera Artist Guild, and Balaraw Art Collective, drawing inspiration from Nueva Ecija’s history, heritage, and spirit of patriotism.
The celebration will continue with a second exhibition from August 31 to September 6, 2026 at the SM City Cabanatuan 4th Level Roof Park, with the initiative of First Nueva Ecija NGOs and People’s Organizations (NGOs-POs).
The exhibitions provide a creative lens through which visitors can revisit and rediscover the province’s rich history and cultural identity. More than displays of artworks, the exhibitions bring together artists and community groups in keeping the story of Nueva Ecija alive, connecting generations through images, ideas, and interpretations of the province’s past.
As Nueva Ecija marks 130 years of the Unang Sigaw, SM City Cabanatuan supports the province in creating a space where history can be experienced beyond books and monuments, and where art gives communities another way to remember, celebrate, and pass their stories on to the next generation.
