BAMBAN, TARLAC — Women from various barangays in Bamban are being equipped with practical meat-processing skills that could help create additional sources of income for their families through a one-day livelihood seminar held at New Clark City.

Hosted by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Bamban and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Provincial Government of Tarlac, the training aimed to provide participants with marketable skills that can be applied to small-scale livelihood activities.

Members of Mothers Club, Inc., a grassroots association of Bambanense women, participated in the training, which focused on translating practical culinary skills into potential household income opportunities.

“Napakauseful po itong binigay na livelihood training seminar sa aming mga nanay dahil magagamit namin ito sa kabuhayan namin,” said Mary Ann Bernaldez.

The activity forms part of efforts by BCDA and its partners to promote economic inclusion by providing communities with practical and market-oriented skills.

By strengthening the capabilities of local women, the training seeks to support greater self-reliance, expand livelihood options and help families build more sustainable sources of income.

The initiative also highlights the role of community-based training in connecting skills development with livelihood opportunities, particularly for women seeking additional ways to support their households.
