MARIVELES, Bataan — AboitizPower’s GNPower Dinginin (GNPD) strengthened its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable operations through a three-day benchmarking visit to Therma Visayas, Inc. (TVI) in Toledo, Cebu, from October 14 to 16, 2026.

The learning visit to the 340-megawatt coal-fired power plant aimed to promote knowledge sharing and explore industry best practices in environmental management, sustainable plant operations, and community engagement.

The delegation brought together GNPD personnel and key local government and environmental stakeholders, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the energy sector and public institutions in advancing environmental protection.

Led by Reputation and Stakeholder Management (RSM) Manager Jeps Mendoza, the GNPD team was joined by Bataan Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) Raul Mamac, Bagac Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) Brenda Clemente, and Barangay Captain Dante Malimban of Alas-asin, Mariveles, Bataan, where GNPD’s facility is located.

“This is a valuable opportunity to learn best practices in environmental management and CSR,” Malimban said, expressing gratitude to GNPD and the participating environmental agencies.

“As your public servant, I remain open to learning and collaboration for the protection of our environment and the future of our community,” he added.

The benchmarking activity provided an opportunity for the delegation to exchange insights and learn from the operational and environmental management practices of another power generation facility. It also underscored the role of stakeholder participation in promoting responsible operations and sustainable community development.

Through initiatives such as the benchmarking visit, GNPD continues to advance its commitment to responsible operations, transparent governance, and environmental stewardship while strengthening partnerships with government agencies and its host communities.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to protecting the environment and building more sustainable communities through continuous learning, cooperation, and the exchange of best practices.
