OLONGAPO CITY — The ICTSI Foundation Inc. and Subic Bay International Terminal Corp. (SBITC) have donated 575 smart televisions to 24 public schools in Olongapo City from 2022 to 2026, strengthening digital learning and earning recognition from the local education sector.

The two organizations were recognized during the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Olongapo City’s State of the Division Address (SODA) on Oct. 16 at the SMX Convention Center, SM City Olongapo Central in Zambales.

Receiving the award were SBITC Executive Director Philippe Baudry, Head of Management Services and Government Affairs Henry Dungca, ICTSI Foundation Senior Program Specialist and Program Head for Manila Education and Subic Bay CSR Projects Milky Z. Llorente, and SBITC Human Resources Superintendent and Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator Olga U. Lledo.

The recognition follows the latest donation of 228 units of 55-inch Samsung Smart TVs, complete with wall-mounting brackets, to five public schools under the SDO Olongapo City. The units were formally turned over to school officials on Sept. 23 at the same venue.

Olongapo City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino Jr., who witnessed the turnover ceremony, thanked the organizations for supporting the city’s education sector.

The smart televisions are intended to help teachers deliver lessons through visual presentations and multimedia materials, making classroom instruction more engaging and interactive.

These resources can complement portable media libraries, including the Knowledge Channel Portable Media Library, which provides more than 1,500 curriculum-aligned videos to support teaching and learning.

The initiative aligns with efforts to integrate technology into classroom instruction and expand students’ access to digital educational resources.

Through their continuing partnership with local schools, the ICTSI Foundation and SBITC aim to help improve learning environments and provide Olongapeño students with additional tools for a technology-enabled education.
