MORONG, BATAAN — The Municipal Government of Morong formally received 56 units of 300-watt solar street lights from PENELCO, GNPD, and GMEC on February 9, 2026, as part of the 2026 TUGON – Solar Spark Street Lights Distribution program.

The initiative was led by Mayor Hon. Leila G. Linao-Muñoz, together with Vice Mayor Hon. Chermaine L. Garcia-Sibug, MD, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan. The distributed solar-powered lights are expected to significantly improve road safety and nighttime visibility in key areas of the municipality.

According to the local government, the project underscores the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in delivering sustainable and community-centered solutions. It also reflects Morong’s continuing commitment to renewable energy and environmentally responsible development.

Local officials emphasized that similar initiatives will continue to be pursued in support of a safer, brighter, and more progressive Morong.
