Subic Bay Freeport – Seven fishermen were safely rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) following separate maritime incidents in the waters off Zambales on February 18, 2026.
While conducting a routine patrol near Bajo de Masinloc at around 12:35 PM, BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) sighted the distressed fishing banca FBCA Gift off Silanguin Island. The vessel had suffered engine failure due to rough sea conditions after departing from Subic for a fishing venture.

MRRV-4409 is currently escorting all rescued individuals to Coast Guard Station Zambales for further assistance.
The incident highlights the importance of sustained maritime patrol operations and the PCG’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding fishermen and ensuring safety at sea.
