OLONGAPO CITY — The 69th Infantry (COUGAR) Battalion of the Philippine Army’s 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division will conduct a military exercise in various areas of Zambales and Olongapo City from August 25 to 29, 2026, as part of its efforts to enhance preparedness and operational readiness for External Security Operations (ESO).
According to the public advisory, the exercise will involve the movement and maneuvering of troops, military vehicles, and other participating personnel and units as part of the scheduled training activities.
The Philippine Army emphasized that no live-fire activities will be conducted during the exercise. Activities will be limited to troop and vehicle maneuvers.
The military unit also assured residents, workers, businesses, and the public that the exercise is being conducted with measures in place to ensure that the activities will not unnecessarily disrupt daily work, business operations, and the normal activities of residents in Zambales.
The exercise will likewise be carried out with due consideration for public safety, environmental protection, convenience, and the general welfare of the community.
The 69th Infantry Battalion appealed for the understanding and cooperation of the public as the military conducts the scheduled activities.
The exercise forms part of the Philippine Army’s continuing efforts to strengthen the readiness, coordination, and capabilities of its units in responding to external security concerns and other operational requirements.
The 69th Infantry (COUGAR) Battalion, 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army urged residents and stakeholders in affected areas to remain informed and cooperate with authorities throughout the duration of the exercise.
