SAN MARCELINO, Zambales — The Municipal Government of San Marcelino, led by Mayor Elvis Ragadio Soria, is among the recipients of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Philippine Community Resilience Project (PCRP), which aims to strengthen community resilience against poverty, disasters, and climate-related challenges.

Mayor Soria said the local government will work closely with communities in identifying priority projects that address the needs of residents, expressing gratitude to DSWD for including the municipality in the program.

The PCRP, under the KALAHI-CIDSS program, promotes community-driven development through participatory planning, implementation, and monitoring of local projects.

The initiative was formalized through a memorandum of agreement signed by Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., DSWD Regional Director Venus F. Rebuldela, and participating local chief executives.

Zambales is the first province in Central Luzon to implement the program, covering six municipalities including San Marcelino, Iba, Botolan, Cabangan, Subic, and Palauig.

Officials emphasized the importance of strong coordination among LGUs and the proper, transparent implementation of projects to ensure effective service delivery and long-term community resilience. (San Marcelino Public Information Office)
