Department of Trade and Industry Zambales Provincial Director Enrique Tacbad, SBMA Senior Deputy Administrator Renato Lee III and SBMA Ecology Center OIC Roselle Lecaroz- Abuyo lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening of the Refill Revolution for a Cause and MSME Trade Fair as part of the Earth Day 2026 celebration at Harbor Point Ayala Malls.

Subic Bay Freeport — In line with this year’s Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Zambales, through the Negosyo Center Subic Bay, has rolled out a series of environment-focused activities in partnership with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Ecology Center.

The celebration, which officially opened on April 20 at Harbor Point Ayala Malls, brings together government agencies, local enterprises, and the community in promoting sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

Running until April 24, the event highlights include the “Refill Revolution for a Cause” and MSME Trade Fair, aimed at encouraging eco-conscious consumer behavior while supporting local businesses.

DTI Zambales Provicial Director Enrique Tacbad, SBMA SDA for Business group Renato Lee III, SBMA SDA for Regulatory Amethia dela Llana-Koval and Ecology Center OIC Roselle Lecaroz- Abuyo join local entrepreneurs and exhibitors during the MSME Trade Fair, showcasing a variety of locally produced food items, delicacies, and eco-friendly products as part of the Earth Day 2026 celebration at Harbor Point Ayala Malls.

Key activities throughout the week include “Trash for Rice” on April 22, which promotes proper waste management through a community exchange initiative; the “Cleanup Club: SBF-WDE Cleanup Activity” on April 23, engaging volunteers in maintaining the cleanliness of the Freeport; and “Watt’s Going On? Understanding Electricity and How to Conserve It” on April 24, which educates participants on energy conservation.

Organizers emphasized that the initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen public awareness on environmental issues while empowering communities to take meaningful action.

Through the Earth Day 2026 celebration, DTI Zambales and its partners reaffirm their commitment to sustainability, urging the public to contribute to environmental protection while supporting local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
