BACOLOR, Pampanga — Residents of Bacolor and nearby towns will soon benefit from improved healthcare services as the newly renovated Ricardo Rodriguez Memorial Hospital is set to open this May.

The development was announced by Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda during a recent medical mission in the municipality, attended by Bacolor Mayor Eduardo Diman Datu.

Now upgraded into a three-story facility with a 75-bed capacity, the hospital is equipped to provide more efficient and comprehensive medical services. As a Level 1 hospital, it features key diagnostic capabilities such as X-ray, 2D echocardiogram, and ultrasound, enabling residents to access essential healthcare services closer to home.

Local officials said the reopening of the hospital will significantly reduce the need for patients to travel to City of San Fernando for treatment, making healthcare more accessible and convenient for the community.

The renovation was made possible through the joint efforts of the provincial government and its partner agencies, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening public health services in Pampanga.

In support of improved accessibility, the provincial government also allocated ₱15 million for the rehabilitation of the road in front of the municipal hall.

Meanwhile, around 1,100 residents benefited from the recent medical mission, receiving free consultations, maintenance medicines, food packs, underwear, and hygiene kits.

Governor Pineda noted that the project underscores the province’s continuing efforts to bring essential services closer to the people and ensure better healthcare delivery for every Kapampangan.(Pampanga PIO)
