OLONGAPO CITY — Authorities arrested a 59-year-old suspected drug personality and confiscated more than P12,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation conducted Thursday afternoon, May 28, in Barangay Barretto, Olongapo City.
Operatives of the Police Station 6 Drug Enforcement Unit (SPDEU) carried out the anti-illegal drug operation at around 5:30 p.m. along Rizal Street, Purok 5, resulting in the arrest of Jimmy Rafanan y Sabangan, also known by the alias “Puti.”
Police identified Rafanan as a street-level individual (SLI) included in their drug watchlist. He is single, unemployed, and a resident of Abra Street in Barangay Barretto.

Recovered from the suspect were three sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 1.77 grams with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php12,036. Authorities also recovered a marked P300 bill used in the operation.
The buy-bust operation was conducted under Target Intelligence Packet (TIP) Control Number B-2026-019-PRO3-OCPO-PS6.
The suspect and the confiscated evidence were taken to Police Station 6 for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.
Police authorities said the operation forms part of the continuing intensified campaign against illegal drugs aimed at curbing the proliferation of narcotics and maintaining peace and order in Olongapo City.
