IBA, Zambales — The province of Zambales has once again demonstrated its commitment to transparent and accountable governance after the Provincial Government and all 13 municipalities successfully passed the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) 2025 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) Assessment.

The achievement places Zambales among the provinces with full compliance in financial accountability standards, reflecting the local governments’ adherence to sound fiscal management and public transparency requirements.

The Good Financial Housekeeping assessment serves as a benchmark for local government units in maintaining proper financial practices, ensuring that public funds are managed responsibly and that financial documents are submitted and disclosed in accordance with national standards.

Under the leadership of Governor Jun Ebdane, the Provincial Government of Zambales continues to prioritize transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of public funds as part of its commitment to delivering quality public service.

The recognition highlights the collective efforts of local leaders and public servants in promoting integrity and excellence in governance. It also reinforces public trust in government institutions by ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently for programs and services that directly benefit communities Gov. Ebdane said.

Joining the Provincial Government in passing the assessment are the municipalities of Botolan, Cabangan, Candelaria, Castillejos, Iba, Masinloc, Palauig, San Antonio, San Felipe, San Marcelino, San Narciso, Sta. Cruz, and Subic.

The recognition underscores Zambales’ continuing efforts to uphold good governance principles and build a stronger foundation for sustainable development across the province. (Zambales for the People)
