MANILA – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Francis N. Tolentino on Tuesday announced a new daily minimum wage increase for private sector workers in the National Capital Region (NCR), with the adjustment set to be implemented in two tranches beginning July 19, 2026.

Under the new wage order, the first tranche will take effect on July 19, 2026, while the second tranche will be implemented on Jan. 20, 2027.

Tolentino said the wage adjustment is expected to benefit about 1.1 million minimum wage earners across Metro Manila, providing additional income to help workers cope with rising living costs.

The DOLE urged employers to comply with the new wage order once it takes effect and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting fair wages while supporting productivity and sustainable economic growth. (Department of Labor and Employment)
