TARLAC CITY — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) joined government agencies across Central Luzon in supporting an initiative that recognizes the contribution of public servants and provides financial assistance to families of workers who died in the line of duty.
AFAB participated in the 2026 Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) Fun Run on Sept. 13 at the Tarlac Recreational Park in San Juan de Valdez, San Jose, Tarlac, as part of the month-long celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.
Held under the theme “Stride as One, Serve the Nation | Sama-samang Hakbang, Serbisyo para sa Bayan,” the event brought together government employees in Central Luzon to promote workforce wellness, strengthen inter-agency solidarity and raise funds for the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi) Fund.

The initiative highlights the importance of a capable and resilient government workforce in supporting public services, economic activity and development across the region.
Proceeds from the fun run will support the PLBi Fund, which provides P100,000 in one-time financial assistance to families of public servants who died in the line of duty.
Children of PLBi awardees may also be recommended for scholarship grants at state universities and colleges, providing longer-term support to families who have lost a public servant.
For AFAB, the activity reflects the agency’s broader engagement with government institutions and employees whose work contributes to the delivery of public services and the creation of an enabling environment for businesses and investments.
The AFAB delegation joined fellow civil servants in the event, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to employee welfare, public-sector collaboration and programs that recognize service to the nation.
As the Freeport Area of Bataan continues to position itself as an investment and economic hub, AFAB said strengthening the people behind government service remains an important component of sustaining efficient public institutions and supporting inclusive regional growth.
