SUBIC, Zambales — Hyundai Heavy Industries Philippines (HHIPH) has committed ₱42 million for the construction, repair and rehabilitation of classrooms and other school facilities in selected public schools in Subic under a two-year partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) Zambales.
HHIPH and the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Zambales formalized the partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on Sept. 23 at Subic Central Elementary School.
The investment will fund infrastructure improvements aimed at addressing the needs of beneficiary schools and providing students and teachers with safer and more conducive learning facilities.
“This partnership reflects the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in addressing critical needs in basic education,” Schools Division Superintendent William Roderick R. Fallorin said.
The agreement covers the construction, repair, rehabilitation and improvement of classrooms and other school facilities identified for assistance. Implementation will run for two years.

Representing DepEd Zambales during the signing were Schools Division Superintendent William Roderick R. Fallorin, Public Schools District Supervisor Lilia Rosete, Division Partnership Focal Person Sol E. Solomon, and the school heads of the beneficiary schools.
HHIPH was represented by President Dae Jun Im, General Affairs Department Head Tae Gil Kim, Section Supervisor Park Woo Young, and General Affairs Specialist Jun Won-Her.
The SDO Zambales expressed appreciation for HHIPH’s support, saying the partnership would help address school infrastructure requirements while improving the learning environment for students and teachers.
The initiative also highlights the role of private companies in supporting public education, particularly in communities where school facilities require additional investment for construction, rehabilitation and improvement.
