OLONGAPO CITY — Around 2,000 students in Olongapo City will receive financial assistance under the first payout of the EduKALINGA Program initiated by the office of Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun in partnership with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), out of nearly 8,500 applicants seeking to qualify for the program.
Khonghun and Olongapo City Acting Mayor Jamiel Escalona led the distribution of financial assistance on October 21 at the SMX Convention Center, SM City Olongapo Central, Olongapo City.

The EduKALINGA Program aims to help students cover school expenses and ease the financial burden on their families, particularly amid rising costs of basic necessities.
The initial payout will benefit 2,000 selected applicants, providing financial support to help meet their educational needs and enable them to continue their studies.
Through the initiative, Khonghun’s office seeks to support young Olongapeños in pursuing their education and gaining better opportunities for the future.
