CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police arrested a 46-year-old Nigerian national tagged as a high-value individual (HVI) and seized 3,510 suspected ecstasy tablets worth PHP5.967 million in a buy-bust operation in Angeles City on October 16, 2026.
The operation was conducted at around 10:30 p.m. along 1st Street in Barangay Balibago by personnel of Police Station 4, Angeles City Police Office, with support from several intelligence and anti-drug units, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3.
The suspect, reportedly residing in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, was found in possession of the suspected ecstasy tablets and marked money used in the transaction, police said.
The suspect and confiscated evidence were brought to Police Station 4 for documentation and proper disposition. Authorities are preparing charges for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez attributed the operation’s success to sustained intelligence efforts and coordination among the participating units.
He emphasized the importance of information-sharing and coordinated action in pursuing high-value drug personalities and preventing illegal drugs from reaching communities, particularly the youth.
PRO3 said the operation also demonstrated the implementation of the JBM Kuyog System, which promotes coordination between intelligence and operating units toward a common objective.
The regional police office vowed to continue intelligence-driven anti-drug operations across Central Luzon to disrupt illegal drug distribution and apprehend individuals involved in the trade. (Jason de Asis)
