BALANGA CITY, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) has reaffirmed its support for industry-academe partnerships to help equip students with practical skills needed by the changing workplace.
AFAB made the commitment during the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Bataan Campus’ recognition of industry partners and host training establishments that provide students with hands-on workplace experience.
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of AFAB Administrator and CEO Hussein P. Pangandaman, Head Executive Assistant to the Office of the Administrator Maria Loreto R. Quicho thanked PUP Bataan and its industry partners for their continuing contribution to developing the next generation of workers.

Quicho said genuine progress depends on investing in people, noting that industry exposure allows students to gain practical knowledge and experience beyond the classroom.
As industries, technologies and work processes continue to change, AFAB stressed the need for education and training programs to keep pace with workplace requirements.
The Authority said closer collaboration between schools and businesses can help identify skills and training gaps while developing programs responsive to emerging industries and employment opportunities in the Freeport Area of Bataan.
“Together, we will continue to build a strong FAB, deep and strong to its roots, which are its people,” AFAB said.
The partnership underscores the importance of aligning education with industry needs to build a more skilled workforce and support the continued growth of businesses in the Freeport Area of Bataan.
