MARIVELES, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) is strengthening its environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda as it mobilizes businesses inside the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) to support cleaner waterways and more sustainable industrial operations.
AFAB led the observance of International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day 2026 on Sept. 19, bringing together its employees and representatives of FAB enterprises for a cleanup drive at Paniquian River and along Zigzag Road.
The activity, which started at 5:30 a.m., saw participants collect and properly dispose of waste from designated areas, underscoring the role of businesses in protecting the environmental assets surrounding the freeport.
For AFAB, environmental stewardship is increasingly linked to the competitiveness and long-term sustainability of investment zones as companies place greater emphasis on ESG performance, resource efficiency and responsible operations.

The participation of FAB enterprises also highlights the growing role of locators in supporting sustainable industrial development beyond their individual business operations.
Among the participating companies were Bonete Industrial Mfg. Inc.; Casa Mariveles Hotel & Restaurant, Inc.; D.I. Dawn Patrol Mfg. Corp.; Dong-In Recreational Equipment Mfg. Corp.; Dunlop International (Philippines), Inc.; East-Cam Tech Corp.; Edge Soft Good Solution, Inc.; Mitsumi Philippines, Inc.; Mountaineering Instruments Corporation; Perpetual Prime Mfg. Inc.; Pepperdime Inc.; San Miguel Bataan-BMEG; Scout Mfg. Industrial Inc.; Almatech Manufacturing Corporation; Dong-In Sunbirds Corporation; and Bataan-Baseco Joint Venture, Inc.
AFAB said the collective participation reflects a shared responsibility among the government, investors and other stakeholders to maintain a clean and sustainable freeport community.
The initiative also supports AFAB’s broader efforts to position the FAB as an investment destination where economic activity and environmental responsibility can advance together.
By engaging locators in environmental programs, AFAB is reinforcing the importance of sustainability as part of the freeport’s business ecosystem—helping create conditions that support resilient investments, responsible industrial growth and long-term economic value for Bataan.
AFAB expressed its appreciation to all participating enterprises for contributing time and manpower to the ICC Day activity and for supporting the freeport’s continuing environmental initiatives.
