OATH-TAKING CEREMONY — Newly appointed Olongapo City Councilor Donald Aquino takes his oath of office before Mayor Atty. Rolen C. Paulino Jr. during the flag-raising ceremony on October 12, 2026, formalizing his assumption of the council seat vacated by the late Councilor Noel Atienza.
OLONGAPO CITY — Donald Aquino took his oath as city councilor before Mayor Atty. Rolen C. Paulino Jr. at Rizal Triangle on October 12, filling the seat left vacant by the death of Councilor Noel Atienza early this year.
Aquino’s appointment restores the council’s representation following Atienza’s death, allowing the Sangguniang Panlungsod to continue its legislative work on local policies, public services and development priorities.
As a member of the city’s legislative body, Aquino will take part in deliberations on ordinances, resolutions and other measures affecting local governance, including initiatives intended to address residents’ concerns and support Olongapo’s development.

The city council plays a key role in shaping local policies, approving measures within its authority and exercising oversight functions under the Local Government Code.
The Olongapo City government congratulated Aquino on his appointment and expressed hope that his tenure would contribute to advancing the welfare of Olongapeños.
His assumption of office comes as the city government continues implementing programs and policies aimed at improving public services and responding to community needs.
