PALAUIG, Zambales — The Bravo Company of the 69th Infantry (COUGAR) Battalion, 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army, carried out separate clearing operations in Castillejos and San Marcelino, Zambales, in response to road obstructions caused by the effects of the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
On August 10, 2026, personnel led by 1LT Rynmar A. Aglipa (Inf) PA, in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), conducted clearing operations in Kanaynayan, Barangay San Pablo, Castillejos.
The team cleared fallen trees and other debris blocking the roadway to restore safe passage for residents, motorists and other road users.
A similar road-clearing operation was conducted on August 13 at Sitio Camalca, Barangay Buhawen, San Marcelino, under the leadership of SSg Carlito Villo (CE) PA, in coordination with barangay officials led by Barangay Captain Edgardo S. Dueñas.

Personnel removed obstructions along the road to help ensure safer and smoother movement of residents and motorists in the affected area.
The operations highlighted the importance of close coordination among the military, local government units, disaster response agencies and barangay officials in addressing hazards brought about by severe weather conditions.
The Bravo Company, 69IB, reaffirmed its readiness to assist communities during disasters and emergencies, particularly in clearing critical roadways and supporting local response efforts to help protect lives and maintain community resilience.
The unit emphasized its continued commitment to public service and disaster response under the banner, “Serbisyong May Puso, Handa sa Anumang Hamon.”
