CLARK FREEPORT— The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) placed workplace wellness at the forefront as more than 1,600 workers, runners, and advocates joined the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region III’s Run As One 3 Sunset Run at the Clark Parade Grounds on May 9.
Representing CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, Vice President for Administration and Finance Group Jose Miguel de la Rosa reaffirmed CDC’s commitment to healthier work environments inside the Freeport.
“A strong workforce is measured not only by physical strength, but by mental resilience and emotional well‑being. When we take care of our workers’ mental health, we strengthen not just our workplaces, but the nation itself—kalusugan ng manggagawa, kalakasan ng bayan,” he said.
The event, part of the Labor Day 2026 celebration, featured 3‑kilometer, 5‑kilometer, and 10‑kilometer race categories centered on workplace mental health awareness.

De la Rosa also highlighted CDC’s continuing partnership with DOLE, including seminars and engagements for Clark locators aimed at strengthening labor‑management relations and fostering mutual understanding between workers and employers.
“The Clark Parade Grounds have become a symbol of recreation, family bonding, and wellness—part of our commitment to providing safe and meaningful spaces for our workers,” he added.
DOLE Region III Director Geraldine Panlilio said the initiative seeks to deepen collaboration among employers, workers, and stakeholders.
“Through initiatives like Run As One, we aim to promote workplaces that value not only productivity, but also the mental health and overall well‑being of our workers. When employers and employees come together through sports and wellness, we build safer, healthier, and more resilient work communities,” she said.
The Sunset Run, the first of its kind in the Run As One series, symbolized the release of work‑week stress and underscored the importance of recharging mental well‑being through physical activity and community engagement. The initiative aligns with CDC’s Live, Work, Play drive, which promotes wellness‑oriented spaces, sports activities, and community programs that support productivity and holistic well‑being inside Clark Freeport.
