CLARK FREEPORT — Clark Development Corp. (CDC) President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera on Saturday, Aug. 29, inspected several areas in the Clark Freeport as the Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, continued to bring rains to parts of Central Luzon.
Devanadera, together with CDC officials, checked the Sacobia area, Prince Balagtas, Abad Santos Avenue, Bloody Ditch, M.A. Roxas Highway and various industrial estates to assess road conditions, drainage systems and rainwater movement.
The inspection was part of the corporation’s continuing monitoring of areas that could be affected by persistent rainfall.
Technical personnel reported that water levels in some portions of the Freeport had risen during periods of heavy rain but had subsequently subsided. Drainage operations remained ongoing, with water observed at the outflow described as clear rainwater runoff.
Devanadera directed concerned CDC personnel to sustain ground monitoring and immediately report any changes in water levels, road conditions, drainage and other developments requiring further action or coordination.
She was accompanied by CDC Vice President for Engineering Services Terry Tiotuyco, Environmental Permits Manager Rogelio Magat, Construction Management Manager Erwin Bognot, Corporate Planning Manager Tarcisius Tiotuyco, Public Safety Manager Herbert Angeles and Communications Manager Astrud Aguinaldo.
Meanwhile, Devanadera also visited the CDC Command Center to check the corporation’s monitoring and coordination operations amid the continuing rains.
The Command Center uses closed-circuit television (CCTV) feeds and radio communications to monitor roads, traffic movement, drainage areas and other parts of the Freeport. Field personnel also relay updates to the center, which coordinates reports with concerned CDC units for assessment and appropriate action.
Security Officer Ely Estrada briefed Devanadera on the conditions being monitored. As of the briefing, the Command Center reported no major weather-related incident in the areas under observation.
Devanadera instructed personnel to maintain round-the-clock monitoring and promptly relay CCTV observations and field reports to the appropriate units as rainfall continues.
The inspection and Command Center visit form part of the CDC’s continuing efforts to monitor conditions, strengthen coordination and ensure timely response to weather-related developments within the Clark Freeport.
