KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) is stepping up efforts to attract Malaysian capital into the Clark Freeport Zone, positioning the economic hub as an investment destination for businesses seeking growth opportunities in the Philippines.
CDC showcased Clark’s investment potential during the October 14–17 Selangor International Business Summit 2026 and the 6th Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) 2026, where Philippine investment promotion agencies engaged with Malaysian officials, manufacturers and business groups.
CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera led the delegation, joined by Vice President for Business Development and Business Enhancement Group Atty. Noelle Mina Meneses and representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Kuala Lumpur, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and Board of Investments (BOI).
The Philippine delegation met with YB Ng Sze Han, Selangor State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade and Mobility, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to explore opportunities for stronger investment and business linkages.
The participation provided CDC an opportunity to present Clark as a potential location for Malaysian companies looking to establish or expand operations in the Philippines, with the broader objective of bringing in new investments, supporting business expansion and creating jobs in the freeport.
PTIC-Kuala Lumpur also organized the Philippine Business Forum, connecting Philippine investment promotion agencies with Malaysian government counterparts, business chambers and manufacturers to identify potential areas for commercial cooperation.
Malaysia ranked among the Philippines’ top five sources of net foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2025, according to PTIC-Kuala Lumpur, underscoring the country’s significance as a potential source of investment capital.
In an August 17, 2026 letter to Devanadera, PTIC-Kuala Lumpur invited CDC to participate in SPARK 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen investment promotion and economic ties between the two countries.
The summit also featured a visit to the Philippine Pavilion by His Highness Tengku Amir Shah, Raja Muda of Selangor, and a welcome address by Selangor Chief Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
CDC’s participation forms part of its strategy to broaden Clark’s investor base, strengthen international business networks and attract enterprises that can contribute to the freeport’s industrial and commercial growth.
By engaging directly with prospective investors and business organizations, CDC aims to translate investment promotion activities into business partnerships that can generate capital inflows, expand economic activity and create employment in the Clark Freeport Zone. (PRESS RELEASE)
