Clark Freeport — More than 100 persons with disabilities (PWDs) from various barangays in Bacolor gained valuable insights on their transportation rights and accessibility initiatives during the “Symposium on Disability-Related Policies on Public Transport for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)” held on June 18 at the Bacolor Sports Stadium.
The activity was organized by the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, in partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Local Government Unit of Bacolor, and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).
The symposium featured a presentation and open forum led by Architect Alexis Gabriel Doroteo, EnP, of the DOTr Road Transport and Infrastructure Sector. Participants were oriented on key disability-related transportation laws, policies, and government programs designed to ensure safer, more accessible, and inclusive public transportation systems for PWDs.

Through the activity, participants were given the opportunity to better understand their rights as commuters, raise concerns about mobility challenges, and engage directly with government representatives on transportation accessibility issues.
CIAC emphasized that accessible transportation is essential to promoting equal opportunities and participation in society for all sectors, particularly persons with disabilities. The initiative reflects the corporation’s continuing commitment to fostering inclusive communities and supporting programs that improve mobility, accessibility, and quality of life.
As an attached agency of the Department of Transportation, CIAC remains steadfast in advancing projects and partnerships that promote inclusivity and ensure that no one is left behind in the country’s development efforts.
The symposium underscores the shared commitment of national and local government agencies to create a transportation system that is safe, accessible, and responsive to the needs of every Filipino.
