CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga — The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) is strengthening its efforts to protect consumers and promote responsible business operations by helping locators comply with food safety, product standards, licensing, and other regulatory requirements.

Through its Health and Sanitation Division (HSD), the CDC gathered 63 participants representing 29 locator companies during the 80th KamOSHtahan: Orientation on Regulatory Compliance for Retail and Duty-Free Establishments held on August 26 at the Clark Events and Conference Hall.

The activity provided participants from hotels, convenience stores, retail establishments, and duty-free shops with updated guidance on regulatory requirements and consumer protection.

Under the leadership of CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, the corporation continues to strengthen coordination between businesses and government regulatory agencies to promote safe, compliant, and responsible operations within the Clark Freeport Zone.

Representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) served as resource speakers during the orientation.

HSD Manager Dr. Maria Clemencita Dobles emphasized the importance of regulatory compliance and strong inter-agency collaboration in ensuring that businesses maintain safe and responsible practices.

Resource speakers Jose Antonio Toledo of DTI Region III, Carl Angelo DV Taca of NMIS, and Imee Patriarca and Ronald Tiglao of the FDA discussed various regulatory concerns, including consumer protection, product standards, meat inspection, hygienic handling, packaging and labeling, licensing requirements, and online regulatory processes.

An open forum facilitated by CDC Sanitation Inspector Raymond Cordero provided participants with an opportunity to raise concerns and clarify regulatory requirements directly with government regulators and CDC personnel.

The KamOSHtahan program forms part of CDC’s continuing efforts to assist locators in complying with the corporation’s Authority to Operate requirements and relevant national regulations.

Through initiatives such as this, the CDC aims to promote safer products, better-informed businesses, and stronger consumer protection while supporting a safe, compliant, and competitive business environment in the Clark Freeport Zone. (PR- CDC)
